I have the following sensor Bus 003 Device 003: ID 0a5c:5865 Broadcom Corp. 58200 I try to run fprintd-enroll, but when I touch the sensor, nothing happens. This is the only thing I can see fprintd-

I have this #Google #Pixel8. Stock. Up to date.

I changed its screen this morning.
(Thanks #iFixIt!)

Afterward, I needed to calibrate the #FingerPrintReader.
To do so, I headed to the official Google website, connected my phone, just to learn that it's too up to date to be setted up.

😮‍💨 How annoying the fingerprint reader on my phone doesn't recognize my fingerprint after hours of wood grinding. It never occurred to me how much of a pain in the ass can be using the fingerprint reader for unlocking the screen. 😅 I can't believe just some small surface scratch on the tip of my finger can be enough to not even match with the previously recorded fingerprint. 😂

Ich arbeitete an einem #Win11 Laptop von #Lenovo , einem #Win10 Laptop von HP , und einem Desktop PC von #Asus mit Win10. Die ersten beiden haben eingebaute #fingerprintreader , der PC hat einen Fingerprint-Reader von #Kensington.
Und alle drei haben die Angewohnheit, völlig willkürlich und ohne nachvollziehbaren Grund die Fingerprintreader nach dem Einschalten mal funktionieren zu lassen und mal nicht. Also nicht, dass mein Finger nicht erkannt wird, die Reader sind nach dem Einschalten einfach nicht aktiv. Das nervt derart. Das scheint ja kein Hardwareproblem zu sein bei den verschiedenen Geräten, sondern immanent ein Bug in Windows.

I am currently switching back to my Pixel 3a from a 6a. The fingerprint reader on the 6a is just so broken. Also a problem is the lack of a headphone jack. Call me old or whatever you like, but aside from the camera upgrades, the new google phones are a big step down from the old phones. I'll keep this 3a as long as the replacement battery and the existing software allows, then I'll be shopping for a phone that has those features (I hope). Hey Google... PLEASE GET RID OF THESE HORRIBLE FRONT SCREEN FINGERPRINT READERS!
