"The officers were looking for a stolen cellphone that was believed to be inside a stolen truck along with several guns. The owner of the stolen truck told police he’d used Apple’s Find My iPhone app and that the app showed the missing iPhone twice pinged near the intersection where Johnson lived on Jan. 3, 2022.. The officers found nothing. Johnson had nothing to do with the stolen goods, the American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado said in a news release Monday." #FindMyIphone #Oops

@barbarakb I had my laptop and immediately activated #FindMyiPhone. It was offline, other than for a minute or so, in another location. I can't really blame desperate people for doing desperate things but it's a huge expense and inconvenience for me. I got a replacement SIM because I have a couple of older phones. It doesn't fit the older phone and the SIM slot is missing from the newer one so I feel very vulnerable, living a device-free life until I can get into the Apple Store in the morning.
