The Healing Process of Getting Back into Photography after 15 Years - By Grégoire Marty Bouiti-Viaudo
My name is Greg, I live in France, I'm 37, I run a wineshop, but we're not here to discuss about all that. We're here because 15 years ago, more or less, I quit photography, and now I'm back at it, after so many years. What happened? What got me back into it? Life happened, all the way. Back then 15 years ago, I was studying anthropology and sociology, living in the countryside of the south west of France. Nice and cool life you might think. Yet, I was suffering depression. I had to stop a first passion, dance, because of an injury. So I was trying to find something that could help me express what I had to say at the time. And photography it was, for a certain time at least.

A Cinematic Photographer Discovering New Horizons by - Nicola Armento
I can’t remember how it all started, I never even thought about taking pictures, but then one day, on that plane to New York in 2017, something changed. I was going on a trip with my first camera, a Canon 1200d (not even mine, borrowed from my sister) just to take some photo-memories in better quality than what my old phone could produce.

Minolta Hi-Matic 7s and A Sentimental Journey Discovering True Optical Prints - by Shawn Granton
It was the first week of January 2020 and I was down for the count with a cold. "A perfect start to a new year", I thought to myself, not realizing what would be in store just a couple of months later. I was home and bored, and for some reason I decided that this downtime would be a perfect opportunity to give film another shot. I'm a Gen-Xer, so I grew up with film but hadn't shot anything with it since about 2004. Over the years I went through a few digital point-and-shoots, but most of my photos had increasingly been taken with my smartphone. I had taken some good shots (at least I hoped), but there's not really a lot of "fun" holding an iPhone 8 to capture an image. Friends of mine were into shooting film, why not give it a try?

Returning to Film with a Canon, a Nikon and a Touch of GAS - By Simon Rikowski
I got my first camera in 1966, it was a plasticky grey Ilford Sprite. I took mostly terrible photos on this little camera, but some were quite good, capturing the look of the time in swinging London. The Ilford gave way to something more substantial in my teens when I got a Leica IIIC with 3.5 Elmar. I was into street photography at the time, and wandered the West End of London looking for interesting subjects. I got some good snaps, sometimes selling my pictures to the tabloids if I got something interesting. The Mirror usually brought the whole roll unseen once they got to know you.
