I gave away some fig treelets yesterday and boy did they go fast. If you have one that gets pruned I urge you to do the same: just throw the stems in a bin, cover with moist sand, and ignore in your basement during the winter. In the spring, just pot them up. Easy peasy. #figs #ficus #plants #gardening #swarthmore
Last October when I pruned my fig tree I threw the clippings into a moist bin in my basement in case some of them rooted. Which they did. Now I have to unload them on neighbors and passersby. "Hey, pssst: want a fig tree?" #figs #ficus #gardening
Fluffernutter is angry that I've converted her favorite window ledge into a fig tree nursery. #cat #cats #caturday #calico #figs

Hmmm. I think the fig jam is fig paste

I thought this one was growing leaves the other day- and here we are, first to the finish line for this group of fig cuttings. This one is Celeste and there are roots as well. This one arrived in the mail Feb 27th and it probably took me a few days to bag it up. It's crazy how fast some of them root. That's less than 20 days to roots and leaves for this one. I think one of my Campaniere figs may also have roots. These are so much fun to grow. #gardening #figs
