Surprise and delight! I saw Festbier on the label, and thought Oktoberfest or märzen. The color and huge persistent head smashed that assumption. This is a Helles, and an excellent one: Apples, bread, and a bit of toffee up front; baked bread, a touch of honey, touch of floral hops bitterness, good through to the finish, perfectly balanced. Light but complex. The hops are different from the typical German, but work well.

From Wayfinder, one of America's best German-style breweries. High expectations met.

🔥 Hot take: Sierra Nevada’s Festbier is better than half the “authentic” Märzens y’all pretend to like.
It’s clean, crisp, drinkable and doesn’t guilt-trip you in German. Prost, nerds. 🍻

🔥 HOT TAKE: Sierra Nevada’s Festbier is so smooth, I’d trust it to parallel park my car after three steins.

Yeah yeah, I know—“authentic German Märzens only!!” 🥴

But Sierra Nevada's Oktoberfest Festbier is over here like: crisp, clean, and ready to party without giving you a sugar crash halfway through the polka. This isn’t just a beer — it’s lederhosen in a can.

🇩🇪✨ Brewed in California, sips like Munich. Your move, Germany.

More about Sierra Nevada's Oktoberfest Festbier.
Out of the 12-ounce can, Oktoberfest Festbier produces a spirited blanket of khaki-off-white, resting on a clear pool of burnt gold. Receding, there is a thin band of lacing resting inside the glass and a small archipelago of lace on the surface.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover notes of cooking herbs, cooking spice, and earthiness.
Sipping, we recover notes of graham cracker sweetness, some toastiness, more of that hop earthiness, cooking herbs, an almost woodsiness, and finishing sharp with bitter notes. Overall, Oktoberfest has a medium mouthfeel, a noticeable alcoholic warmth, and a lingering sharpness that is punctuated by bitterness.
Now that's what I call a selection box... #Festbier #beer
