#RIP Asha Bhosle. What a singer!

I discovered her - like most people - via all those Bollywood soundtracks she sang on. “O Saathi Re” especially. I was obsessed with that song.

When I saw her perform live at the South Bank Centre in around 2011 she was in her late 70s, but she put younger singers to shame.

And that charisma! At one point the crowd started singing “Chura Liya Hai Tum Ne” to her. It was wonderful.
