Last week, I kept going to bed and putting The Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring on as I settled down to sleep.

It took me all week to finish it, as it's almost 3.5hrs long not including the 20 mins of credits.

This week, I am doing the same with The Two Towers... which is again over 3.5hrs long not including the credits.

I strongly suspect that next week... I will be doing Return of the King... which is the longest of the three at 4hrs 23m including credits.... and I usually try to spot my old friends name in the extras list.

Thus will complete my almost annual watch of the trilogy.

I actually think that’s the first time I’ve rewatched #FellowshipOfTheRing since it had its original run in the cinemas. I don’t think I’ll be in a hurry to do so again either.

It’s been a while so I might go see #FellowshipOfTheRing in #IMAX. I was going to sit for a bit when I got to #Dendy but there’s enough of a queue that I better not.

Wahoo! The kiddo has agreed to watch #FellowshipOfTheRing! 🧙‍♀️✨

One chance to hook her, do I go theatrical or extended cut? My gut says extended (might be the only time she watches it!), but she loves history and lore… the lack of PoCs has always been a hurdle (for me and likely her).

On the plus side, I love Tolkien and used to read her The Hobbit at bedtime, fingers crossed, some of that magic sticks. 💍📚

Which version would you pick for a first-time watch?
