2/3 This afternoon, the news arrived that we've been waiting for, and her path isn't getting any easier. She has four months of chemo ahead. Likely to lose her hair. Her mum says she is heartbroken because she's yearning to get back to school and had allowed herself to hope it would happen soon. Not yet, but that's easy for me to say and nowhere near as easy a prospect for her to face.

1/3 Our 12yo granddaughter's surgery was major and complicated, because the big tumour had ruptured, seeding itself on different organs around her abdominal cavity, so they had to remove more than just the intended ovary. We've visited her twice while she waited for the test results to all come back and a treatment plan to be decided. She's tiny, our little love, pale and exhausted, but her mischievous sense of humour is still good.
