Jose Maria Sison was born #OTD in 1939. Throughout his life he created organizations that fought for communism in the Philippines and around the world, beginning with the Communist Party of the Philippines, then its armed wing, the New People’s Army, and later the International League of Peoples' Struggle. He was jailed several times for his activities but was freed each time.
