Feather.wiki had an update while I wasn't looking at it. The update process was remarkably painless. Now I have the option to save my preference for drafting in Markdown as opposed to having to flip that switch each time I create a new page.
Yay.

Yay.
I just found a bug in the Markdown renderer for #FeatherWiki and have created an issue ticket:
https://codeberg.org/Alamantus/FeatherWiki/issues/280
For reference, starting a new line with text formatting like ** for bold is preventing the Markdown renderer from designating it as a new paragraph.
I will work on fixing this issue as I have time and create a new build version when it is finished.
Please report any other issues you find with the tool so I can maybe include fixes in the next version!

### Describe the problem When rendering Markdown, if the line starts with `**` or `_` (any markup that formats the text), it the renderer is not adding `<p>` tags as intended in order to display the text as a paragraph. This results in things like: ```markdown **line 1** is important **...
Juha-Matti Santala: An entire wiki in a single file? A look at Feather Wiki. “Feather Wiki is a really cool project that I ran into a couple of weeks back. It’s a wiki project that fits the entire wiki, including all the content, in a single HTML file. You can upload it to a server (or use locally), make changes in browser and when you’re done with changes, you download a new version of […]

It's a single HTML file that contains everything. To update it, you make changes in the web UI, download a new copy and replace the old file with the new file.
I'm still early in my experimentations with it but I'm super excited about the concept and its simplicity.

Feather Wiki fits an entire wiki into a single HTML file and allows you to make edits directly in browser and download an updated version. It’s a wonderful project for small wikis that want a simpler solution.

This version marks the start of a new family of bird, and it's the return of an old favorite. The releases within the 1.9.x minor version will be named after the Finch family of birds, starting with the [Greenfinch](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenfinch)! Version 1.9.0 is a big update that ...

I wrote about a new app I'm using and my note-taking setup! It's a tool used for non-linear notebooks and #wikis called Feather Wiki @FeatherWiki.

After discovering #TiddlyWiki from @jbaty, I went ahead to give #FeatherWiki (lightweight TW fork) a spin as a personal #braindump bin. I really like how it’s just a HTML file at 58kb!
Using #Android, it failed due to Android Storage Access Framework (#SAF) limitations. I ended using the amazing #Termux once again to run #Busybox #httpd, automate the whole process of opening, serving & saving back to my…

4 apps in #FreedomBox have the word Wiki in their name. This makes reviewers think that there are 4 Wiki apps in FreedomBox.

#FeatherWiki and #TiddlyWiki are notebooks. They are supposed to be a better alternative to syncing a folder of Markdown files using Syncthing to your FreedomBox.
I don't think they are even meant to be used for the same purpose as MediaWiki. They don't have user management or even a backend for that matter. They are literally HTML files!
