related - This is why there should be a grid view for chrome browser bookmarks. Even on a huge screen, a grid layout is a better launcher than a list.

The "favorites new tab page" extension is essentially the solution. Only problem is I/we can't seem to reach the developer of the extension. If you haven't tried favorites new tab page, give it a go. It's really nice.

I am unaffiliated with this extension but I rely on it as a launcher for my browser bookmarks. It's been very reliable for the past year and I wish I had known about it 5 years ago when it was released.

If anyone can get in touch with the developer, please tell them to update it to manifest v3.

the linux version of chrome is essentialy private space for chromeOS, because its essentially a version of the chrome browser that's *not* tied to the operating system itself.

this was not the case with lacros, which, while allowing multiple chrome profiles, was still tied to the os.

and that is why, i think, google should legitimately make and maybe market something more like *that* as a "thing".

it's better than lacros.

I hope this message finds you well. I’ve been using your "Favorites New Tab Page" extension and have found it incredibly useful. It has significantly improved my browsing experience, and I would be disappointed to see it go.

Recently, I noticed a notice from Google stating that the extension may no longer be supported soon due to not following the best practices for Chrome extensions. As a dedicated user, I wanted to reach out to express my appreciation for your work and to inquire if there are any plans to update the extension to meet the current Chrome Web Store guidelines.

chrome extension - favorites new tab page feels like a native default part of chrome. like nova launcher is to android. that being said, can we give people an option to use it passively, as a clickable button, in addition to the new tab page? it already has the clickable button option.

now it just needs an option for

"access the grid only by clicking extension button - gives the user a way to keep the default new tab page while still being able to access the grid by tapping the extension button" or something to that effect

that being said. can we get an option whereby the we can just view our bookmarks grid when tapping on the little shortcut icon for the extension, while keeping the new tab page itself just be default?

i myself use it, however, in order to increase usage and spread the use of this wonderful extension, i'm thinking maybe give people a way to use it more passively, if the user desires to do so. maybe an option "leave new tab page as default - you can still view your bookmarks grid by clicking the extension icon". or something to that effect
