For #FavCharacterJ I am going with Jessica Jones. Specifically the Netflix Marvel version of her because I never read any of her comics.

I was already a big Krysten Ritter fan before this show, and I loved most of the Netflix Marvel shows. I love the idea of a moody depressed PI who just happens to have super strength for some reason.

@ami_angelwings There are some letters for whom #FavCharacterAtoZ are difficult, when looking only at time travel fiction.

#FavCharacterP is not one of those.

Mr. Peabody. A cartoon series, a movie, and a shoutout in "Back to the Future".

Great puns too.

Padmé Naberrie Amidala

I was fourteen when THE PHANTOM MENACE came out, and where Leia had been aspirational, Padmé/Amidala felt relatable, my feelings blown up to the scale that space opera affords. A fourteen year old girl with the weight of the world on her shoulders, who finds a way to be strong and see her way through.

(I can also relate to making the mistake of falling for someone you think you can heal, but l'm sticking to THE PHANTOM MENACE for now.)

Princess Ozma of Oz

THE MARVELOUS LAND OF OZ, the first sequel to THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ, tells the story of a boy named Tip who escapes his abusive guardian and goes on an adventure through Oz trying to find a place where he belongs. In the end he learns that he is actually the Princess of Oz in a magical disguise, and the Good Witch Glinda transforms him back.

I didn't know why this was my favorite as a child. I wept when I re-read it as an adult.

#FavCharacterI time. #FavCharacterAtoZ

It took a little thought for I. Ifurita from El Hazard, my own Iris and Indigo, Inara from Firefly. All possibilities. But my first pick I had to abandon, because I got the spelling wrong! Aydah Mensah from The Murderbot Diaries does not qualify for obvious reasons, once you write it down.

So.

Everyone's favourite swordmaster. Inigo Montoya. Scarred by Count Rugen at 11, he dedicates his life to improving his swordsmanship and hunting down the Six Fingered Man (the Count). And when he finds him, he will say "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." #ThePrincessBride

Mine so far, featuring Frasier "The Face" Crane and Nero Wolfe as...The Chief!

#FavCharacterH for #FavCharacterAtoZ .

So many choices. Honor Harrington, Hugo "I'm not getting better am I, Mummy?" Chiddingfold, Han Solo, just to name a few.

But no. None of these.

For H it has to be Henry Crun. The barely sentient septuagenarian and beloved of Minnie Bannister. From, of course, the Goon Show.

(From the Dreaded Batter-Pudding Hurler of Bexhill-on-Sea)
Henry: Here, Minnie, hold my elephant gun.
Minnie: I don't know what you brought it for. You can't shoot elephants in England, you know.
Henry: And why not?
Minnie: They're out of season.
Henry: Does this mean we shall have to have pelican for dinner again?
Minnie: I fear so, I fear so.
Henry: Then I'll risk it. I'll shoot an elephant out of season.

#FavCharacterG for #FavCharacterAtoZ .

G is easy. The incomparable G'Kar from #Babylon5 .

What can I say about G'Kar? His singing voice? His humour? His dedication to his people? His deeply philosophical transmogrification? His amazingly sexy nightgown? (And this from a straight guy!)

Not many fishes left in the sea...
