I kind of wish all medical providers would listen to Maintenance Phase from the start of the series. Having to do education with medical providers is exhausting. Having them suggest dietary things related to weight after I tell them I've got a history of disordered eating, UGHhhhh. When I can feel the vibe coming off of them that they're antifat and trying not to seem so. UGhgghhghhhh feels so gaslighty.

Maintenance Phase

And I suppose I just needed to voice this because this is the casual #FatStigma or #FatBias they talk about in medicine and public health. These are the real impacts of it, the severity of it. It ruins lives for no good reason.

Just like in mental health this group of people gets to do this unchecked and call it a bias that they are now working on.

Not
Good
Enough.

Public health as risk management is a system of oppression.

#AntiFatness

Social science has long documented the very real consequences of #fat #stigma and #bodyshaming. S. Kwan and M.N. Trautner offer an overview of #fatbias and the law. https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/1536504211408907
