I have finally found it. THE book I’ve been looking for.

I have wanted to read a specific book for quite a while now: I wanted to read a story in a genre I like where the main character is fat, but it’s not part of the story.

Not someone who wants to lose weight. Not someone who is loudly proud of their body. Not someone who is fine with their body but the rest of the world isn‘t.

Those stories also deserve to be told. But I just wanted a regular story where the main character happens to be fat.

And then I found this book. And it’s perfect. Exactly what I wanted.

A romance story where the body of the fat character is not A Thing. It gets described where necessary, but that’s it.

Honestly, you have no idea how much I have wanted this!

And turns out this author has a lot of books like this. She gained a new fan …

Anyway, the book is ‘At first spite’ by Olivia Dade.

And if anyone knows about a book like this in the thriller / murder mystery / detective genre – I would love to hear your recommendations.
