Govt has announced a bunch of changes to the Fast Track bill in response to the protests. The pressure is working!
But the bill remains fundamentally anti-environment, still excludes public participation ... and there are nineteen new mining projects in the pipeline!
Greenpeace says changes to the Fast Track Bill announced today are a wolf in sheep’s clothing, but show that the Government is feeling the heat and public pressure is working.
Both parts of this petition are worth fighting for: don’t fast-track a mining operation close to Pupu Springs, and restrict the (awful) Fast Track Bill so that at least it can’t end-run around existing Water Conservation Orders. #NewZealand #FastTrackBill #politics

At the weekend we saw over 20,000 people from all walks of life demonstrating that they do not want this bill to be passed. The hubris and nonchalant attitude towards our people and the environment is breathtaking.
