Aaaaaahhhhh, let's hear it for that wonderful invention, #Velcro. The #fastening #solution that fastens anything ... until it doesn't. And a lot of the time, when it stops working there's no practical way to replace it.

(I have a carbon-fiber walking brace that has soft fabric straps that attach with velcro. The fly in the ointment is that the velcro doesn't securely hold the straps any more, and there's no obvious way to replace it without taking the entire brace apart. Allard USA's replacement-soft-parts kit for the brace does not replace the problematic hook-side velcro,)
