If we all had to live off our land, the crop specialists we call "farmers" would be dead by autumn, the gardeners would need more potatoes, the homesteaders would wish they had grown feed for their animals, the permaculturalists would be teaching the rest of them how to eat, and the agroecological farmers would be wondering what the big deal is.
