As we approach the end of 'nadas' (fallow), the theme set for Darağaç's October-November-December program, assuming the renewal had already taken place, we decided to put the title of the event 'rejenere' (regenerate). Living things survive by using their genetic memory which enables them to regenerate tissues they lost. Regeneration is a state of resistance to extinction. From this point of view, similarities can be established with cultural existence. While living things resist organic extinction with their genetic memories, communities resist cultural extinction with their collective memories. Memory brings with it the ability to regain what has been lost.
Uncivilization, after being active in İstanbul, was in stasis for some time. 'Rejenere' also refers to the re-emergence of Uncivilization in Izmir.
The origin of the word rejenere, which passed into Turkish from French (régénère), is the Latin regenerātus. It is formed by the combination of the prefix re- and the word genus/generis, which is used in the sense of lineage, origin, birth.
