this is a prediction and i hope it stays true, I THINK and hope that the homestuck fandom is the last fandom im "invested in" if that makes sense
that doesn't mean i'll stop liking things and making fan art and stuff (duh) I guess i mean this in regards to fandom culture as it is now. IT FEELS DIFFERENT

and not to be cliche but everyone in fandoms now feels like theyre "normies"?? Like, fandom feels like HIGHSCHOOL now, people are starting nonsense discourse and rumors, fan art feels souless now and more people are making it to be popular rather than it just being fun or trying to participate with others to celebrate something they like, there being different posses/closed off groups of friends that EVERYONE knows, there being "popular girls" and people wanting to be like them (everyone wants to be an e celebrity now), everyone that doesnt make fan made media expecting and feeling entitled for other people to do it for them ITS JUST UGH!!
just aint fun anymore, fandoms arent fun and i just dont wannt socially participate in them outside of myself and my fave artists. (with one of them being someone i wanna keep distance from)

the current safe haven for people who wanna have fun without drama seems to mostly be the slime asmr community currently, and non political "moe" youtubers who cover otaku stuff. its pretty niche but its better than the alternative if you wanna fun place to rest online
minecraft youtube is also pretty good

as for stuff i currently like, my lack of desire for HARDCORE social interaction is probably going change how i do things in relation to stuff i like.
its already happened with fear and hunger as well, i enjoy it and ship characters without overthinking it and i make fanart ehen i feel and will still post it of course

I think that you should be allowed to consume (some) problematic media sometimes. I’m tired of every other thing that I enjoy being axed by ‘fans’, sometimes before it can even get off of the ground so to speak. I’m an adult and believe it or not I have the brain capacity to look at said thing with a critical eye. Are there horrible people in this world? Yes, but not every misunderstanding or block button hit is a personal jab at you.
