Awww yeah!
So as you know, I did install #CachyOS as replacement for #Linux Mint on my system this weekend. Turns out #Automobilista2 runs pretty well with the native proton install in CachyOS. Managed to install the #Fanatec drivers to my DD wheel (from here: https://github.com/gotzl/hid-fanatecff) and it works like a charm! (On Mint I didnt get it working.) I think now I don't have any further reason to boot up Windows any more...
