Spooky charcuterie is part feast, part display - molten Camembert, homemade bread and gothic touches. Perfect for Halloween or seasonal snacking.
Assembly - use a wooden board, spooky decor and aim for texture!
1. Baked Camembert with Cranberry Sauce:
Start with a whole wheel of Camembert. Score the top in a crosshatch pattern and spoon cranberry sauce into the centre. Bake at 180°C (fan) for 15–20 minutes until molten and bubbling.
For the drama, plunge a sword pick into the centre once baked (for the vibes)
2. Homemade Bread Rolls:
Mix 500g strong white bread flour, 1 tsp salt, 7g fast-action yeast, and 300ml warm water. Knead until elastic, then let rise for an hour. Shape into rolls, prove for 30 minutes, and bake at 200°C until golden.
Split one open while warm. The steam rising feels like something ancient waking up.
3. Salami Roses:
Fold salami slices over the rim of a small glass, layering them into a rose shape. Chill briefly to hold the form, then place them on the board like preserved blooms.
They’re edible relics - soft, sharp and symbolic.
4. Cubed Cheese:
Cut firm cheeses like cheddar, gouda, or Red Leicester into neat cubes. Arrange in clusters or winding paths.
They add structure and choice - calm amongst the chaos.
5. Crackers for the Haunt:
Use emo looking charcoal crackers to ground the board in gothic tones. Add seeded crackers for texture and contrast (also yum)
They’re not just for crunch - they’re the bones and bark of the spread.
6. Butter/Cheese Dip/hummus:
Serve whipped butter or soft cheese dip in a small wooden bowl. Place it near the bread rolls or crackers.

7. Blueberries (any fruit works):
Scatter blueberries and blackberries in clusters. Tuck them into corners and folds of the board.
