Can I just say that I find it disturbing that a lot of news anchors seem to feel the need to smile while reporting anything

So they smile while talking about cars killing pedestrians and sexual assaults and shootings as much as during puppy and food pantry stories

It deadens viewers to horrific events. We need emotional intelligence

It wasn't this way as recently as last year
