President Donald Trump's White House has established a hall of shame for journalists it finds guilty of media bias as it looks for new avenues of attack against legacy news outlets. And it's calling on “everyday Americans” to participate with their own examples of where they consider journalists to be unfair. The Republican president has been criticizing “fake news” since his first term. Some of Trump's attacks have turned personal in the past month. Yet despite it all, the news outlet Axios pointed out this week that mainstream news sources are as dominant as ever in setting the agenda for Washington and — somewhat ironically — capturing the president's attention.

@psychopoesie @feather1952 @Cloudslave I was walking there last night with my son - we watched the bushfire sunset, sitting on the breakwall looking over Horseshoe beach. It's a pretty beach and in the 20 plus years I've lived here, has never looked like the fabricated image showing garbage all over the beach.

@Cloudslave hang on, it looks to me like the top is the original photo and the bottom is cleaned up by AI, given the mangled shapes in the bottom.
To be clear, I don't try to defend climate change deniers or people trying to paint the movement in bad light. I wouldn't be surprised by such practices from these ghouls. I just want to make sure we don't continue spreading misinformation.

The image at the bottom is clearly doctored.

Unfollowing and blocking people spreading stuff like that is now part of basic social media hygiene and should probably be taught in schools (except Aus has decided to try and outlaw it for kids instead, so I guess they'll have to learn the hard way.)

Then why the hell is @Cloudslave@aus.social using a horribly bad photoshopped fake image as the example of the "clean" beach, when they could have used the crisp pristine original image? Who thought making that was a good idea? Here's what it should look like. And yes the fat cats are faking photos to attack protestors again, thankfully obvious when you don't screw up and make your evidence look even faker than the fake.

Unfortunately the opposite is true. This account is spreading #disinformation

If you look carefully at the top and bottom images you can see that the figures, people and animals, and vehicles and realistic and distinct in the top image. While in the bottom image they are distorted and disfigured. The latter being clear indication of crude AI manipulation.
