My dear created one,
your image of me is so often completely distorted.
I love you, no matter how you see yourself and no matter what happens—and that will never change.
You worry that I might stop loving you because of what you do or don't do, but that's not true. I am certainly often unhappy with your actions, but they do not end my love for you.
You are afraid of my punishments. Yes, okay, I may sometimes insist that you fix things you have messed up, as far as that is within your power. But hey, isn't that obvious? And sometimes your admittedly stupid actions have consequences that negatively affect you. Yes, sometimes the stupid actions of your fellow creatures also have negative effects on you. I think that's called “life.” This makes it all the more important that you take another look at the rules and guidelines I have come up with for you creatures. Even though my rules have often been and continue to be unnecessarily inflated and tightened by religious people, often leading to more confusion and annoyance than they are useful, I still consider the underlying ideas (e.g., “love your neighbor as yourself” — or at least respect him/her and do not intentionally harm them!) to be very good and helpful for positive coexistence.
But even if you repeatedly break my guidelines for life, it doesn't change the fact that I love you with all my heart. For your own sake. If that weren't the case, I wouldn't have brought you into existence.
The reason I brought you into being — believe it or not — is so that you would have a chance to love me too. And if you can't bring yourself to love me (“I'd have to get to know ‘the guy up there’ first, and he hasn't introduced himself to me yet!”), then I'm happy with just a spark of longing (“Oh, somehow I wish that this loving counterpart did exist, where I'm always welcome, no matter what...”).
I just wanted to tell you that again.
