What are face analyzing 'AI' folk using these days? OpenFace looks powerful, but seems to have an inactive community. Is there something better? For facial expression project, not facial recognition.

Would welcome boosts or hashtag suggestions for reach.

@kashhill #Cops are just #CriminallyStupid...

Also both don't even look closely alike - not even in terms of facial geometry - which is what #FacialDetection is supposed to be good at...

I finally got this face detector working with CUDA! Without the tensorrt I was getting about 2-3 fps running a yunet model. With the Converted engine and CUDA it runs at about 60 fps- way more responsive. Still tweaking the video input stream- and trying to figure out how the code examples work a bit more to turn detected faces into blinky and control data. I like the idea of a sculpture watching people watching it and responding to the viewer/s #facialdetection #sculpture #code #linux #audience

Some exciting developments with #facialdetection for my #shysculpture . I got the #yunet #neuralnetwork working and wow- it's so effective compared to the cascaded classifiers. It even works with masks. Now it's set up to dim the neon - to hide- when it sees a face.
This all works locally- no faces or live video feeds sent to big corporate servers. It's main flaw is a two second delay- perhaps this will be fixed with a compute stick or faster processor.

What happens when you add a bit TOO much AI?

My series Masking Machine used a #facialdetection enabled #makeup app too add recursive layers until the #AI could no longer recognize a face.

MASKING MACHINE (PHOTOGRAPHY SERIES) — BlinkPopShift

The Masking Machine is a still color digital photography series using machine learning to create masks of the artists face. Each image begins life as a simple selfie, the most quotidian, maligned, and rampant photography of our time. Next the images are feed into a landmark detection algorithm which
