You noticed? I prefer my social media when it's not owned by billionaires. I set my app timer to 15 minutes and there's no notifications.
15 minutes doesn't give you a chance to do much, but I think just over 1% of my time is more than enough for that place.
Stupid people. I've just turned off Facebook access on my phone between 6pm and 9am. I really can't cope with the absolute stupidity in the comments.
Today's gem is a racist ranting at "small boats" coming over here and bringing "doctors and engineers" taking are jobs (sic).
My response?
Well if they're doctors and engineers they aren't going to taking your job are they, Ronnie the Racist with your single GCSE grade E in woodwork and your crystal meth smile.
About 5 months ago I paid for a blue tick on Facebook to get rid of the absolute dog shit advertising.
Guess what changed on my wall?
Nothing.
It was still irrelevant force fed recommended posts; slop and right wing newspapers. I cancelled it pretty much straight away.

One of my dearest friends refuses to get a Signal account and leave Meta/WApp bc she says "it's another app to download and they're all the same". Im in Aus. She's in UK. I don't want to lose touch but I want to close WApp.
Give me sthg WATERTIGHT, people, to convince her Meta/WApp is fucked. Bc it is.
I've told her about Meta's anti LGBTQI stance, the data theft, the lack of privacy. Her son is gay but so far nothing has got through to her...

Maggie Maybe@noondlyt @patmikemid I was kind of horrified when I realized that the obituary pages at the funeral home that took care of my mom and my brother were connected to Facebook. I think the funeral home notified Facebook of my brother‘s death because I know I didn’t do it as the personal representative, but someone did.
The part that freaked me out was that I wasn’t able to respond to comments on his obituary page after the first day or two because he had me blocked on Facebook when I deleted my facebook account a year or two before he died. The funeral home was able to go unblock me so I could communicate with the people trying to communicate with me there, but it was weird as hell.
And the weird part for me was that I had a different phone, but I guess the same Internet service, from when I deleted Facebook to when I was typing on the obituary page. To make an entry there it asks for your name and email address but I wasn’t using the same one I used on Facebook. So I don’t even know how it knew it was me trying to reply to people on the obituary page.
But why TF is a funeral home website so connected to Facebook that it would block people blocked on facebook??
