Today's studio work is a small wall quilt. I choose Earth tones that lean towards gray, to make an effigy of a rock. I've laid it out and sewn it on and I'm feeling really good about it.

Holiday markets are about to kick off. I'm not usually this far ahead of the game, but I've been working in full gear for months.I'm setting up in less than an hour for a 1 day event.

I'm usually up at 6 sewing until wet go to work at 7:35 and spend my lunch breaks cutting fabric and canvas.

I bought a printer and a cricut this year to create sticker and magnet versions of my artwork.

It is so much work being a one man business!

I'm a very structured, symmetrical, kind of person. It took a great deal of effort to learn color & design to develop new ideas.

I found a class that intrigued me. These decorative stitched trees are the opposite of structure. From the tiny strips of fabric to the running, varied width stitching - it's all free form. For the canopies, you reduce the machine tension and go wild. There are no rules and it's so liberating.
