More bitching on the queer word having changed its meaning.

Queer filmmfestivals: Submit your queer content films. Make sure it is clearly recognisable (aka non binary people looking cis are not performative nor interesting enough, please fuck off). Pay submisssion fees even if your project has no budget. We don't pay screening fees and we use public and private funding and submission fees to pay ourselves and some production partners with market fees. Because community labor has to be paid (our labor, ofc, but we dont have enough to pay the artists, or if, very symbolic fees).

What happened to queer being something we do instead of an identity, and what happened to lets get rid of extractivism and of unequal distribution of ressources?

honey, that queer l or even feminist label is quite misplaced. And people accept it, including the queer community/ies.

This is one of the worst Winters in recent history. Make no mistake, Mother Nature will treat Humanity just as Humanity has treated her. And since Humanity won't put an end to its extractive economies, continuing to treat her with cruelty and indifference, Humanity should prepare itself for everything she has in store for it.

Man, reading some of my old posts..
I was hurt.
(Understandably so.)

I know a lot more about nervous systems these days.
I wouldn't call someone necessarily a #narcissist.
I would call them #extractive.

Narcissistic relationships are about asymmetric regulation.
About the extraction of regulation.
(Calmness. Soothing.)

One nervous system latches onto another.
And stabilizes itself,
their model of reality,
and their self-image.

All externally.
All through someone else.

Anything that contradicts their version of reality?
Literally an existential threat.
(Fight, flight, freeze, fawn.)

The supplying nervous system
- in a flight of empathy -
soothes the extracting nervous system.
Another asymmetric exchange.

Rinse.
Repeat.
(Looping.)

Until the supplying nervous system breaks the loop.
Or burns out and gets discarded.
(Fun. Not really.)

And so much of the “work” they do is just #extractive, not any form of actual #wealthcreation

If the European Union wants to stop the imperial ambitions of the man in the White House, it will have to do more than protest. It will have to innovate—and that means targeting America’s oligarchs.

Wow. A brand-new federal report just revealed something that should reshape the entire conversation about our public lands: The single strongest economy on federal land is outdoor recreation. Not oil. Not gas. Not timber or mining. Recreation on public lands pumps $128.5 billion into the U.S. economy every year. It supports nearly one million jobs, pours billions into wages, and delivers majorstate and federal tax revenue. And here’s the part the extractive industries can’t compete with: It’s 100% renewable. Every year, people return to hike, fish, camp, climb, hunt, ski, raft, explore—and they bring their children, who bring their children. The economic cycle grows because the natural resource grows. When you line up the numbers, recreation generates more economic value than ALL extractive industries combined—grazing, oil, gas, timber, mining, all of it. Y’all know we’re all about the data. And the data says one thing while the politicians pretend it says another. The lie survives because it’s convenient and profitable to politicians and special interests. The truth matters because it’s measurable. The statistics tell a very different story. Please share. @More Than Just Parks

Just days before Labor Day, a holiday designed to celebrate the importance and power of American workers in the United States, the Transportation Department cancelled $679 million in funding for offshore wind projects, and the Department of Energy announced it is withdrawing a $716 million loan guarantee to complete infrastructure for an offshore wind project in New Jersey.

Last week I went to a talk on Non #Extractive #Business and #Finance by Melanie Rieback, who proposes a solution to #private #equity ruining everything for everybody.

Entertaining and well-reasoned talk, delivered as a one-hour stream of consciousness without slides. The recording is video, but you could just as well listen to it like a #podcast.
