A ★½ review of Exorcist: The Beginning (2004)
I watched "Exorcist: The Beginning" (2004) immediately after Paul Schrader's version, and now I regret rating them similarly because Schrader's film is clearly superior. However. This version does have some advantages: it's filmed more dramatically with more close-ups, and the lighting is much better, making the sets more convincing. But all the rest is actually worse: The editing aligns with typical horror films from the 2000s, complete with unnecessary jump scares, which I hated. The characters act like they're in an action-adventure film rather than a horror movie, which feels out of place. And so on… Overall, "Exorcist: The Beginning"

Octoberween 2024 #12 Bueno, si hay algo en lo que Damien le ha ganado a Regan es en tener la mejor precuela.
