Brent Guernsey, Artrocity StudioI've had my (used, 2024) Kia EV6 Wind all-wheel drive car for a little over a month, and I bought it with the understanding that its range was 282 miles.
Well.
The first thing I discovered was that an 80% charge gave me an estimated 315 mile range. Last night I charged the EV6 to 100%, and I had an "eco" (rear-wheel drive) estimated range of 407 miles and a "regular" (all wheel drive) estimated range of 395 miles!
My "Emporia" brand home level 2 charger can provide up to 48 amps of charging at 16 cents a kilowatt-hour. My EV6 has a 77.5 KW battery pack, so a zero-to-100% charge costs $12.40. I suspect an internal combustion engine car with a 400 mile range would cost $50-60 to fill these days.
I am very happy with my Earth Day purchase.
Martin WeberHeute war ich um die “selbst einparken”-Funktion des Kia #ev6 sehr dankbar. Gerade hingestellt und mit Fernbedienung rein geparkt. Das Parkhaus in Südfrankreich war eins der engsten, in denen ich bisher war. Zeigt auch leider gut, wie fett moderne Autos mittlerweile sind.

Back then, Kia/Hyundai were pretty much the only cars with 800V architecture and super fast charging in that budget range. Not sure how that has changed by now? Super handy on road trips to effectively go from 10% → 80% in ~15 min (coffee + restroom break) ⚡🔋 ☕
Jonathan Arnold 🇺🇦I've been researching #EV cars, and I have to say the Kia #EV6 is still top of the class for me, despite some mechanical hiccups. Looks great, charges fast, and has some amazing technology. My lease runs out in August. The #BMW iX3 looks fantastic, but for US$20,000 more? I don't think so. And the Rivian R2 is just too eclectic. I just wish there were a #Kia dealer near us.

Langstrecke mit einem #Elektroauto soll kompliziert sein? Genau das Gegenteil ist der Fall. Ich fahre mit dem Kia EV6 GT mal eben 850 km auf der Autobahn und das sehr sporlich mit einer Reisegeschwindigkeit von 160 km/h wo es geht. Viele glauben immer noch, dass E-Autos nur etwas für die Stadt sind oder dass Langstrecken zur Geduldsprobe werden.
