@norawibb at least the ECB isn't that silly, tho CFA-Franc are someone of a pegged, second-tier currency (The guarantor is the French National Bank, which in turn pegged it statically to the Euro nee Franc)…
- Kinda like the Sahauri-Pesetas are peged 1:1 to the Spanish Pesetas and thus ~ 1:176 to the Euro. The 40.000 EHP gold coin still looks great tho.
The only "legal tender" commemorative in Euro I saw are the "0 Euro Banknotes" as legal tender, which are made eith the same materials and security features as the real notes, tho with different dimensions, unique ink and obviously different motives (as well as having 0 denominated value)…
- Tho these are mostly nice collectibles and with a denoted value of 0 not meant for use.
But I also think the @ecb should issue €1 & €2 bills and reintroduce not just the €500 but also introduce a € 1.000 banknote!
- Make the € 1 note about the Ancient and € 2 Medieval times!
