When forced to decide between two choices, most people (including me!) will ask: how can I do both? Whereas an #essentialist would ask: which problem do I want?

Denying the trade off is a typical problem of an optimist like me. How do you do this? How do you decide which problem to choose? Tips?

(The philosophy here is rough, because I never finished this idea.)

In an #essentialist dimension, free will is subservient to inborn natures and natural characteristics. Living creaters are born good or bad, and no individual's action can change that. Essence trumps existence.

In an #existenialist dimension, existence trumps essence, and free will lets living things choose whether they are good, bad, chaotic, lawful, etcetera.

Brace yourself, I'm about to get a little metafictional.

“This collapse is a telltale sign of a problem known as publication bias. Small, early #studies which found a significant #sex difference were likelier to get published than #research finding no male-female #brain difference.”

You don’t have a male or female brain – the more brains scientists study, the weaker the evidence for sex differences

Rather than distinctly male or female, the human brain is much more like the heart, kidneys and lungs – basically the same no matter the sex of the body it’s in.
