These are the recordings of the very first concert of DIEP (Deventer Improv Experiments Pool); a group of Deventer artists curated by De Perifeer, each working with improvisation and experiment in their own way. The members of DIEP come from different musical backgrounds and generations, but in their experimental attitudes they are related to one another – and to De Perifeer.

In this first edition of DIEP the following artists take the stage: @aaltvandeglind, Bastian Benjamin, @[email protected], Jo De Hulsters, Johanneke ter Stege and Vera Bon.

De Perifeer is dit jaar opnieuw samenwerkingspartner van Booster, waardoor een klein deel van de line-up in het Booster Showcasefestival ruimte biedt aan acts zoals je die van De Perifeer gewend bent, zoals Einder, Fentom, No Barbie en Xeppo. Daarnaast gooit de line-up van Booster [CTRL] een aantal namen die je bij De Perifeer ook al eens eerder hebt gezien, zoals Bastian Benjamin & Alberta Balsam, Jasmín en Oh Hazar.

Zelf neem ik morgen op uitnodiging van moderator Rieks Bolhuis deel aan het conferentieprogramma in een panelgesprek over 'de kracht van de selector'. Zeer vereerd daar naast experts Jasmin Hoek en Vanity Roxane plaats te mogen nemen. Maar ook als je net als mij graag wilt weten of het een vergissing was om mij hiervoor uit te nodigen, zou ik zeker komen luisteren 😅

The first one is 'ochtendnevel' by |grens|. This electronics and beats laden journey has a slightly trippy atmosphere and is the result of a residency at De Bubbel at BRUT in Deventer. Released as a purple hand-stamped cassette tape, packaged in handsome hand-folded covers with photography by Maaike Smeedes. Also available as a download of course. Financially supported by Music Support Overijssel. 🙏

The second one is 'Soft Ice' by Janne Eraker. This mini-album is a new choreographic work by Janne Eraker, with Vilma Kananen, Gaëtan Farnier and Håkon Sigernes (tap dance) and Juhani Silvola (guitar). These recordings have an ASMR-like quality and are released on the premiere date of the dance piece: today! This digital only release comes with iconic artwork by Daan Botlek. And in Norway there is also a very ltd. amount of handcut vinyl by Janne Eraker 😊
