Our colleagues Lea Sophie Singson, Silvia Becker, Ely N.N. Silaban, Axel Loewe & Franziska Boehm highlighted technical & legal challenges/benefits of digital twins in biomedical engineering in their presentation "Research Data Management in Medical Data Science:Integrating Multi-Source Data for Cardiological Simulations and Machine Learning: Challenges in Security, Privacy, and Legal Frameworks"

This presentation was given at the E-Science-Tage 2025 at the University of Heidelberg. It highlighted the potential technical and legal challenges, as well as the benefits, of using electrophysiological models, known as digital twins in biomedical engineering, to generate synthetic data such as electrocardiograms.

HMC at #EScitage2025
Our #HMC collegues had a great time at #ESciTage @uniheidelberg in #Heidelberg. It was a fantastic opportunity to dive into the latest trends in #RDM and share our work at the poster session.
From inspiring keynotes to engaging workshops, the event was filled with insightful discussions and new ideas.
Big thanks to @ESciTage
to make this happen!

This week, DALIA project members presented the DALIA platform and the DALIA Interchange Format, which serves as the metadata specification for the DALIA platform, at the E-Science Tage 2025 @ESciTage Check out the poster under https://zenodo.org/records/15020137
Teaching data literacy is essential for various areas of society such as politics, science and education. A systematic approach to promoting data literacy involves indexing, linking and making accessible digital teaching and learning resources. The DALIA project (“Data Literacy Alliance”), launched at the end of 2022, aims to link existing material and make it available in an accessible form. It is supported by various institutions and is closely linked to the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). DALIA is developing a knowledge graph for networking and quality assurance of the materials. The DALIA Interchange Format (DIF) is used to schematize the metadata in order to ensure transparency and interoperability. It was created in collaboration with the community and takes existing data standards into account. The DIF V1.3 comprises 18 attributes, some of which are mandatory, others recommended or optional. The poster introduces the DALIA project and the DIF and invites further collaboration.
