Clint Eastwood’s superb directorial debut Play Misty For Me (1971). Classic suspenser/erotic thriller. Amazing performance by Jessica Walter. I love that Eastwood did not cast himself as a conventional hero. Just a regular guy out of his depth.

Phillip Noyce's 1993 Sliver, scripted by Joe Eszterhas and starring Sharon Stone, has a poor reputation. In fact it's a superb provocative intelligent morally ambiguous erotic suspense thriller about voyeurism. I love that building.

The Killer Is One of Thirteen (1973) is a Spanish giallo or rather proto-giallo, these films being stylish decadent erotic thrillers rather than gorefests. Sadly this one has the decadence but it's slow, very unsexy and not stylish enough.

Art-house meets giallo in Tinto Brass’s Deadly Sweet (1967). Has a Pop Art verging on psychedelia visual style. Imagine a giallo made as an homage to Blow-Up but in the style of a Guido Crepax comic. Quirky, witty and slightly perverse. Superb.

A Quiet Place To Kill (1970) is a superb stylish early-period Umberto Lenzi giallo. Lots of twisted emotional and erotic relationships that take deadly and unexpected turns. Carroll Baker is fantastic. I love pre-Argento giallos.
