#today the #equinox/equilux is nearly here! Some think the engineering of #Stonehenge and #Mnajdra are fancy, but roll over, because I get blinded by direct sun while sitting up in bed only at about this time of year and for the autumn equinox / #equilux too!
I will be in at uni today then captaining a team this evening for the #CBQuiz
The modern buildings of Pacific Quay in Glasgow at sunset on a still evening a few weeks ago. It's worth noting that from today onwards, we'll get more daylight each day that we do darkness right up until September.
The equinox is coming soon! But today I stumbled across information about the lesser known equilux.

"Twice a year, day and night reach a perfect balance of 12 hours each, creating a little-known event called the equilux."
"… two dates every year reach equilux in most latitudes."
Mañana en España #equilux, me acabo de enterar y seguro que tú también😅
El día durará lo mismo que la noche
(Sí se lo he robado a Rtve)
We often think of the equinox as the day when light and dark are the same amount. Technically, that's not true. That occurs on the equilux, which happened a couple days ago. Here's a great article that explains why the equinox doesn't have 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night.

De astronomische lente begint pas op 20 maart 2024. #equinox
