We've played #Epistory - the difficulty ramp is a bit aggressive for him.

Outshine is available for $8 on GOG, and it looks good, but I haven't tried it yet.

Cryptmaster aligns well with his horror interest, although I'm not sure how well he'd respond to it's hit-or-miss guidance...

@weirdadmiral iirc gab es ein Lern-/Übungsprogramm, das in den Standardrepos der meisten Distris ist. Bin aber gerade leider nicht in der Nähe eines Linux zum nachsehen.

Ansonsten fallen mir natürlich #Epistory oder der Nachfolger #Nanotale als gute Lern-/Übungsspiele ein (letzteren hab ich aber selbst noch nicht probiert). Laufen meines Wissens beide gut mit Proton.

I just finished #Epistory, a game I picked up for free at Epic Games, but I would gladly have paid for it. It's a story exploration puzzle game, and you fight monsters by typing them to death. I haven't felt as immersed in a game in aaaaages. Let me tell you, a boss battle and you are frantically typing worlds like 'videoconferencing', got my adrenaline up. Got Epistory free on EGS not so long ago. Just finished it and want to say that was pretty damn good. Lovely graphics, well put-together story, good writing, good level of challenge (which is adjustable so presumably those who aren't as fast at typing won't get terminally stuck). Love finding gems like that unexpectedly.

This is a pretty fun indie game where puzzles and fighting revolve around typing words. You can still use a controller + buttons, but it's certainly more fun with a keyboard. It's not very long, around 5-6h. I finished it a while back and enjoyed it.

There is so much to love with #Epistory. It's still the most amazing typing game, and my favourite part was the stunning world reveal animation as paper unfolding.
