The Tasmanian government has announced that from 2029 (when the current funding deal expires) funding will cease for greyhound racing in the state. This isn't an explicit ban, but given the loss making nature of the industry, it's likely it won't survive without being propped up by the government.

This is great news, and the remaining states should follow suit so we can end this barbaric, cruel practice in Australia once and for all.

We're a day early, but oh well.

It's these two puppers' first Christmas, and they're unsure about it right now.

Remember that greyhounds (at least in Australia) are exclusively bred for the racing industry. Every single pet greyhound you see out and about is a survivor of an irresponsible and immoral industry.

Which is why despite these two being three and five years old, they've probably never had a Christmas before.
