When expectant partisans
heard the breaking news
that the demise
of the intolerable beast
was just another
wishful rumor

When the group wishes
of their wanna be existence

the thing that
mind reroutes
message returns again
pillow on my head
turn off the radio
cancel my newspaper (so sssorry kid)

a way out
shipwreck reality
designing us
our numb humanity~

seeking a punch line
the truth
which #eludes
we finite performers
in this surreal circus
lies buried
beneath the grave reality
of our lurking mortality

Those who try to deny
our diminishing timeline
are in for a shock
when relentless time
runs out the clock
as the victorious bell
tolls mockingly
over their vanquished
soon to be gone
unprepared carcasses
