In the 1960s, the guy who owned the house where my newer house is now in California, brought a baby American Elm tree out from the midwest in the back of his truck. It’s now glorious especially this time of year when the leaves are all fresh and new. I estimate it’s about 70 feet tall and it provides lovely shade to three homes.
