The Elm Street films were coming thick and fast by the late ’80s. The most notable thing about this one is that it marks the debut screenplay of Brian Helgeland, who went on to win an Oscar for adapting L.A. Confidential. It’s also an early film from director Renny Harlin, later responsible for Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, and the famously ill-fated Cutthroat Island.
Rachel Talalay finds a 1988 talk-show appearance she made where people argue about the violence of The Nightmare on Elm Street movies.
Talalay was a producer for The Nightmare on Elm Street films. She directed the movie TANK GIRL later in the 1990s and then directed a bunch of pivotal #DoctorWho episodes over the past decade.

According to the openSUSE team the people were made perfectly aware of what they were circumventing; it was put in plain English.
What was not put in plain English is that because of the circumvention they were putting themselves in tremendous risk.
