A #zinc–#carbon battery (or carbon zinc battery in U.S. English) is the generic “heavy duty” #disposable battery. It has been overtaken in recent times by the longer-lasting #alkalineBattery. A zinc–carbon battery is a #dryCell that provides #directElectricCurrent from the #electrochemicalReaction between zinc (Zn) and #manganeseDioxide (MnO2) in the presence of an #ammoniumChloride (NH4Cl) #electrolyte. So I did a dumb experiment. I wanted #sparkling water that has #electrolyte. So I poured the electrolyte powder in sparkling water and mixed it without shaking too much. In seconds, the CO2 was almost gone. I checked online after and it's a known thing. Thing is, electrolyte are kinda sharp tiny crystals. So when it get in contact with the bubbles it burst them. Now I know why it doesn't exists. It's not that I'm a genius enough to have ideas nobody ever had, It's just that I'm dumb enough to mix sharp rocks with bubbles and think everything will be fine.
