Frank AerrorIt happened again... Yesterday, on my way to work, the rear brake on my #KTM #Freeride seized up. It had happened a few times before in winter time and I read somewhere that it could have been caused by road salt and gunk which I believed to be plausible.
I did look for a solution about a year ago but did not find any (other than machining an adapter bracket and putting brembo calipers on the bike).
So was very pleased to find out that now there is a 3rd-party rear caliper available that is plug&play at a somewhat reasonable price (250,-ish€).
It's the first upgrade in my 3 years of ownership and I really hope this solves the issue.
It still is unbelievable that KTM and #Formula got away with this dangerous design flaw (there are many reports of freeriders having the same or similar problems with the formula brakes).
I haven't found a replacement for the front brake though but it seized only once and never again after I changed the brake fluid so fingers crossed.
