#democrats #elections #election2026 #election2028 The Nation is spot on here. I know most of us on the left tend to think of American farmers as the MAGA enemy. The problem with that characterization, just like all the mischaracterizations about urban liberals that conservatives preach, is flawed. Midwest farmers are not part of a monolithic culture. They are diverse in their thinking and struggling like the rest of us. As this article points out, it would take a 3% shift in midwestern red states to destroy the stranglehold the Republican Party has on them. Democrats should be descending on midwestern states and flooding them with organizers and ideas to help local communities. Instead, our party leadership focuses on urban areas and pressing far left agenda that rural voters do not understand. I fear 2026 will be a missed opportunity to bury the conservative movement.
