#AlexHonnold is the only person known to have climbed the 3000 ft face of #ElCapitan in #Yosemite #FreeSolo (without ropes &/or safety gear).

This climb was recorded in the documentary Free Solo (2018). I have a copy of it on DVD. It can be viewed for free on a least one #AltStreaming channel & for a fee on PPV/subscription channels.

The Captain

From this point of view as can be seen here, El Capitan stands in all its glory rising 3,000 feet above the valley floor. The gray granite seems to dominate the valley floor and from this perspective it does. But the river that cuts through the valley will lead you to many other places that try to also compete.
