The third stage of the Eifelsteig leads from Monschau to Einruhr. The distance on this day's march is 24,3 km and the difficulty is indeed labeled as "difficult" - especially if you add another six kilometers after getting lost in the noon of early January like we did!

This week our plan of walking three consecutive stages of the Eifelsteig was turned into reality and we started No. 4 which leads from Einruhr to Gemünd near Euskirchen, Germany. This reflecting picture was shot in the first third of the trip before reaching the #Urfttalsperre and is a great proof for reflections, nature and an early morning aura!

The lost village in the Eifel-area, #Wollseifen, is a place that was wiped away in the aftermath of #ww2 to become a military training area: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vogelsang_Training_Area

Before reaching the infamous Nazi-castle #Vogelsang, this place gave us the chance for a last short rest in the blistering heat!
