Debutniverse is my blog where, each week, I watch just the first episode of a different cartoon and do a write-up of all my thoughts on it! I've covered shows like Transformers, Care Bears, Recess, and Eek the Cat to name just a few! I would love for you to join me on this adventure!

I don't consider it to be a review blog - I'm terrible at giving numerical ratings and things like that, and I much prefer to enthuse about the parts I enjoy rather than whine about the parts I don't like. So it's mainly an excuse for me to watch a bunch of cartoons and then ramble as much as I like! Oh, and also, I've made a whole bunch of GIFs of each show for you to plunder.

If you like to do art of cartoon characters, please send me your drawings of any of the cartoons I've covered on the site! At this point you have over 80 cartoons to choose from, any skill level is accepted, and it's fine if it's art that you've already created! Once you've sent your art to me, I'll display it in an entry and I'll link to your site or socials alongside it! There are a few different ways you can get in touch with me, but feel free to ask me questions here too!

I'm a huge fan of the 90s cartoon Eek! the Cat. It was a favorite growing up and I still enjoy the hell out of it. It's so weird and funny but also somehow wholesome. Its creator Bill Kopp (also the voice of Eek) recently found this comic that he and show co-creator Savage Steve Holland (co-creator of Eek! and the guy who made Better off Dead! - remember that one?) made at the height of the Eek! craze, in 1993. 😻
