Next year a staggering 18,060 schools face a year on year funding cut totalling £1bn in real terms. For millions of children, these cuts will lead to larger class sizes, reduced subject choice and less individual support for children. For teachers it means more real-terms pay cuts, more unmanageable workloads and less time to teach each child. Sign our open letter to Rishi Sunak asking him to avoid a funding crisis for schools next year.

Mastofolk! Could I get your opinion on a thing? My opinions are often rapidly formed and I can be super vocal and fly off track, so...
Would you think it responsible of a #school to offer a class trip to 12-year-olds for one (domestic) night away at a cost of £300, during the worst cost of living crisis in 30 years?
The trip is completely optional, but the school has a large percentage of pupils on free meals & there's a fair whack of poverty in what used to be an affluent area. Parents can of course say no, but kids are being sent home fired up and wanting to go.
To my mind, it's irresponsible & tone deaf just now. But is it just freedom of choice? Just something parents who don't have £300 to for a trip 90 mins away have to shrug off?
