Sie betrachtet #Updates und berechnet die tatsächlichen Kosten des Kaufs eines Handys.

Ich hab nicht genauer geschaut, aber das #NothingPhone müsste auch vom Hardwarehersteller so lange #Firmwareupdates bekommen. Das geht ohne #EconomyOfScale leider nicht gut.

IMHO it'll be inevitable that #Methanol #FuelCell-based #EV|s will be the future simply because:
1.#Lithium is scarce & expensive
2.#refueling will always be faster than #charging
3.#EnergyDensity of Methanol exceeds that of any #battery
4.#FussilFuel #Corporations can simply switchover pumps and flex their #EconomyOfScale and existing #Logistics to flood the market with cheap Methanol even if it has to be made 100% sustainable and without any fossil resources.
5.#EnergyStorage is another problem and #FuelCells can replace both #EmergencyPower systems running if #Diesel as well as the average #gasoline #generator.

Not to mention there needs to be #SystemChangeNotClimateChange and that necessitates way better #PublicTransport, regardless if #Trains, #Trams, #Trolleybuses or #FuelcellBuses (in that order)...

  • Otherwise shit won't change.

OFC what any #BEVs won't fix is the fact that most particle emissions are #tire #brake #dust...

  • And those are inherebtly unavoidable.unless we want to sacrifice #RoadSafety!

Because even the most space-and resource-efficient low-occupancy vehicle will get sqashed by #EconomyOfScale a working #MassTransit system with #Buses, #Trams and #Metros can do without even changing much of it's core workings...

@tuxlife thanks Niel for sharing your thoughts. The question here is why #linux #oem cannot offer budget friendly laptops? I understand that they're mostly small-to-medium sized enterprise #sme which face the challenge of #economyOfScale in their business. However, in my humble opinion, I still believe that offering #entrylevel laptops by Linux oems are doable even with the #economic #constraints. It looks like that Linux OEMs are targeting #gamers and #graphic #designers with their offerings 🧐.

A mature natural system can be extremely productive and cost nothing but the energy to harvest.

#Permaculture teaches how to take advantage of nature's economy of scale.

@straphanger Neighborhood schools were abandoned in favor of warehouse schools for thousands of kids at the edges of the town where land is cheap because #capitalism is everything. Can't provide local education if the only thing that matters is the faulty notion of #EconomyOfScale being applicable to #humankind
My kids couldn't bike to school even tho it was only 3 miles, as the #Midwest is openly hostile to #bikes and #pedestrians. I moved so I can walk but #Developers want to ruin this too.
