Ecological workshop in Spain: ANdiNa VIII – “Improving predictions in ecology” (June 2026)
“we need to be able to predict in the short term how natural systems change to be able to make proactive decisions.”
“You will have the time and the opportunity to think, to discuss, to challenge one another…”
I will consider an application as an ECR. It is not tremendously expensive, and the topic matches exactly my interests as an ecological modeler. Modeling should predict, but why is ecology so bad in it?
Science School on Quantitative Ecology

I think this is the *worst* model diagnostics I've ever seen. I had to laugh out loud when I saw it. What a way to start a friday.
ISIMIP workshop in May 5–9 in Potsdam, Germany:
“The workshop, while serving as the main annual ISIMIP workshop, will be an activity as part of the Horizon Europe project OptimESM, and an excellent opportunity to connect the climate and climate impact modelling activities with regard to potential inputs to the IPCC Seventh Assessment Report (AR7).”

ISIMIP offers a framework for consistently projecting the impacts of climate change across affected sectors and spatial scales. An international network of climate-impact modellers contribute to a comprehensive and consistent picture of the world under different climate-change scenarios.
